iNeverDie: Apple's Next Killer App

Apple's iPhone debut was featured on the net and in daily publications. Gadget junkies lined up, then bought, then assumed the postion. They stared down. Fixated, they left their life in the real world and headed for a virtual life on the small screen of iPhone.

Here's a suggestion for the Apple engineers. Apple should introduce the next killer app for iPhone. It could be titled iNeverDie. It's only logical that since so many people forgo the real world for the virtual world it would be appropriate for them to leave behind a virtual incarnation of themselves when they die. Surely there exists rudimentary artificial intelligence that could be programmed with the dead persons voice. An archive of answers, conversations and even jokes could be pre-programmed by the invidual before he/she dies. It doesn't have to be memorable conversation so as to make the virtual experience more realistic.

Relatives and virtual friends could save some funeral expenses if they virtually deny the death by not having a formal service. Only the removal and disposal of the body would be required. That's much cheaper.

Mike Huckabee: Time To Exclude Evangelical Christians From Public Office

Evangelical Christian and presidential hopeful Mike Huckabee warned ," We must be alert and monitor Pakistanis that come to the U.S.". This xenophobic response was given at a press conference in West Des Moines, Iowa yesterday when asked about his thoughts on the asassination of Benazir Bhutto. He didn't mention that her embrace of U.S. interference in Pakistan's politics was the probable cause of her death. No this religious looney wants to continue America's failed foreign policy that is partially supported by evangelical christian extremists of which Bush and Huckabee are members.

Church and state shouldn't mix. It's time to exclude from consideration evangelical christian extremists from public office on the premise it would require a lobotomy or death to free up an evangelical from his or hers religion. They are as looney as the Islamic jihadists who also share the lack of maturity to lead a nation.

Should Environmentalists Welcome The Four Horsemen Of Apocalypse?

It's truly an ill wind that doesn't bring some healthy results. Could the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse-Pestilence, War, Famine, Death- be a guilty pleasure for environmentalists?

The Audubon Society recently released its census of the U.S. bird population. In the past 40 years, 20 common birds in America have lost app. 50% of their population. Some species have suffered even more. The count of Northern Bobwhite has plummeted 82%. The Northern Pintail have lost 77% of its numbers. The Audubon Society blames urban and suburban sprawl. It also says that greedy logging and farming practices leave birds and wildlife without habitat.

During the same 40 years starting in 1967, the U.S. population increased from 200 million to 300 million. Also the U.S. GDP has expanded from app. $ 800 billion to app. $ 12 trillion. The trade off between wildlife loss and human gain is obvious. And America is only a model of what is happening on the larger world scene. Are we as a species worth the dislocation to every other species? Have we become a quantity of infestation and a non-quality personal species?

Maybe a revaluation of the Four Horsemen is in order. Oh yeah, I don't want a " New Jerusalem" as per revelations. I've got a belly full of the old Jerusalem.
