San Francisco Culture Is Still Sliding

Here's the latest bombast of cultural decay in San Francisco. This putrid policy assaults the school- going youth. School Superintendent Carlos Garcia whose own backround grew from all-is-good petri-dish wants to "revolutionize the San Francisco school experience". To that end ,he's co-opted the retro  psychedelic "Jimi Hendrix Experience" album cover to put on the City's 51-page educational guide for the current school year. Mr. Jimi was a great guitarist in the 1960's , but he also had a militant message and actually died from a drug overdose at the age of 27. Is he the man for the message? What message? Probably for Superintendent Garcia's message he's perfect but that begs the question is Super Garcia's message the correct message for young or old ? NO !

Superintendent Garcia and other politicos like Mayor Newsom are part of the San Francisco political machine. That machine is largely controlled by San Fran's 2 mommies- Speaker Pelosi and Senator Feinstein.  Garcia and Newsom don't do things that Feinstein or Pelosi don't approve philosophically.  And of course this "cover" is front and center while the Mexican drug-cartel wars are playing out on the U.S. border and S.F. is still a sanctuary city.

Pelosi lives about 5 blocks to the northeast of me and Feinstein lives about 7 blocks to the southwest of me. If I stood on a tall building and the day was clear and if both mommies from hell were looking in my direction, I could flip them off.

San Francisco Tall Buldings Without Open Windows

QUESTION: Why are tall buildings built on San Francisco unstable landfill that are themselves the debris of former earthquakes?

ANSWER: More money is to be made in the economies of scale of taller buildings.

QUESTION: Why do these same buildings keep out the freshest air on the planet by having windows that don't open?

ANSWER: Buildings cost less to build that have windows that don't open.

CONCLUSION: So San Francisco builders have opted to rely on it's faults and to shut out it's strengths.

San Francisco Politics: Mirijuana Vs. Wheelchairs Vs. Critical Thinking

Here's another classic San Francisco political battle. It's a S.F. classic because the issue has nothing to do with running the city more efficiently or in a cost-effective way. Instead costly Board of Supervisor's time is being used up in a hissing and pissing contest in non critical S.F. matters. Only a city as wealthy as San Francisco could afford such wasteful, expensive arguments.

In one corner we have the Cannabis Buyers Club. They sell mirijuana for medicinal purposes. But their place of business is on the second floor without wheelchair access. So to circumvent city's ordinance, the business and the landlord want a historical designation of the building which trumps a wheelchair access requirement.

Not so fast says Supervisor Michela Alioto-Pier who herself is in a wheelchair. She sputters, " If they think the [mirijuana] business should be held in such high esteem, then make it a museum or put up a plaque on the wall, but don't put the rights of one group over the civil rights of another".

Pardon me Ms. Alioto-Pier, but how did you get your appontment to the Board of Supervisors? Was a more qualified persons civil rights trampled because of your political contacts and Civil Rights legislation affirmative action philosophy interceding? Wheelchair users are a protected class. But more importantly critical thinking is more valuable and by definition should also be protected. I don't know how many wheelchair users want medicinal mirijuana on the second floor of a building without an elevator, nor do you, but I would guess the number to be tiny or non-existant. Live and let live. By the way, what about cutting the cost of running San Francisco? How about dealing with personal non-critical issues on your own time?

Healthier Drug Users Or Healthier Public Environment?

San Francisco spends $ 850,000 to give 2.4 million syringes free per year to drug users in the City's needle exchange program. The program was launched years ago to cut down on the infections from unsafe drug use. Sixty to seventy percent of the needles are returned. The remainder end up in the public common areas of the City where innocents get stuck or infected or both. There are app. 750,000 needles per year discarded in an unsafe manner. One suggestion to mitigate the unsafe disposal problem is to provide convenient collection locations throughout the city so concientious and civic-minded drug users can return their needles 24/7.

Relying on drug users to be responsible is the definition of moronic optmism. Isn't providing free syringes for illicit drug use a de facto partial legaliztion of drug use? How can you have a legal way of breaking the law? Ethically and practically speaking you shouldn't . Ergo either legalize drug use or stop the needle exchange. With legal drug use would come the free market to provide solutions and the philosophy of more personal resposibility and freeing up prisons for more dangerous demographics. The trade off between healthier drug users at the cost of unhealthy public environments is a bad trade.

When it comes to drugs you can find plenty of health information on the Internet about them. Even if you don't need to know more about drugs then you can still find plenty of useful health info online and maybe even find people to answer your health questions like nurses or doctors.

S.F. Supervisor Ed Jew's Problems: What's The Fuss?

Poor Ed Jew. In a city that could have inspired Cole Porter's song " Anything Goes ", he's getting nailed for what most others get away with. The City Attorney says that Mr. Jew doesn't qualify as a resident of San Francisco's District 4. So he can't legally be on the Board of Supervisors. Hell, truth be told, his district looks like a Chinese provence and probably at least 20% are illegal aliens.

But why should Mr.Jew be selectively nailed for violations of residency? What about S.F.'s cause celebre " THE HOMELESS"? They call home anywhere they urinate or defecate. What about Mayor Gavin Newsom? He's promised no S.F. law enforcement against illegal aliens who come to San Francisco.

Mr. Jew is also involved in a F.B.I. investigation. Mr. Jew acknowledges receipt of $40,000 in cash. He claims the money belongs to a consultant that he is connected with. The F.B.I. suspects it's a bribe from the Quickly Co. for Mr. Jews help in circumventing the City's red tape in the business permit process. Heck, I have heard that same $ 40 k figure tied to former Mayor Willie Brown's helping developers at S.F.'s Planning Commission.

Maybe there's some discrimination against Mr. Jew. Mr. Jew is not a white-male fag hag like Gavin Newsom. Mr. Jew is not a black carpetbagger like Willie Brown. Mr. Jew doesn't relieve himself in public like our celebrated homeless. But he's a Chinaman who calls himself Jew. Poor Ed. He's too early. Maybe in a couple of years he will be part of the S.F. chosen.
