The Maurice Clemons Story

The story of Maurice Clemons is too preposterous to be a book. Clemons could only achieve reality and credibility in everyday normal American life. This is the culture that we want to export to the world?

Cultural, Financial & Poor Semantics Bottom?

One thing good about hitting bottom is that the next vector is assuredly up. Hopefully The U.S. and world financial meltdown will usher in a more sane use of laws, money and words.

A sane use of laws and words would include more regulation of the financial markets. This would offset the criminal provisions of the Commodity Futures Modernization Act Of 2000. The Act allowed the constructive legal-criminal swindle by Wall Street investment banks via the Acts provision that " specifically banned regulation of credit default swaps" and "over-the-counter energy trades and trading on electronic energy commodity markets". The notion that the Act and its verbiage orders no regulation is somehow legal and a worthy piece of regulation is an oxymoron on its face. This Act led largely to the collapse of Wall Street and $147.00 oil . It endangers economies worldwide. Words do matter. Laws do matter. Political correctness and the misnamed Commidity Futures Modernization Act lead to the wrong conclusions.

The financial mess is welcome in some ways. Certainly there will be less or no money for wars of choice. Social problems that perpetuate dependence will have to be cut back and Washington has been exposed as more part of the problem rather than the solution. We need more states rights with taxes and individual behavior being more of a local affair.

Mayor Bloomberg Wants More

One can take the kike out of his or her greedy culture in eastern Europe but one can't take the greedy culture out of the kike.

And so Mayor Bloomberg of New York City wants to roll back term limits in the City and spend a $100 million on another run for office. It's kind o' like he is reaching back for that expansive experience he felt at his bar mitzvah. Then he was told that he was a "son of divine law" and "chosen"for great things. Hey if laws have to be broken or ignored, Mike was on a "mission from god".

Mike needs peace more than another term as mayor. He should convert to another religion.

George The Vulgar

Simple, vulgar George Bush's foreign policy is "Kill, kill, kill" and his domestic policy is "Drill, drill, drill". Those are the two primary missions of our would be emperor and chimp-in-chief. The goals were pointed out by two of the most powerful lobbys in our country---the military- industrial- complex and the fossil fuel industry respectively. And chimpy is the perfect messanger. He doesn't ask questions because he doesn't know what questions to ask. And this trait dovetails perfectly with the requirement to continue policies inspite of their real world failures.

Chimpy just landed in Rome. He will be visting Pope Benedict XVI. The Pope is the heir to the what's left of the Roman Empire. Chimpys Air Force One mentally juxtaposed to Vatican City tells a tale. The Roman Empire is now an enclave and a would-be emporer's transportation is more a sore eyeful like some graffitti on an ancient architectural wonder. Whatever the excesses and problems with the Roman's were -and there were many- the Romans did have a rich culture and style. That's more than can be said about chimpy and the Pope.

James D. Watson: Spoke The Truth

Dr. Watson shared the 1962 Nobel Prize for describing the double-helix structure of DNA . Recently Dr. Watson wrote a book titled, " Avoid Boring People: Lessons From A Life In Science". Also recently Dr . Watson said , " Overall people of African descent are not as intelligent as people of European descent". I applaud Dr. Watson's scientific contributions, wit and insight.

But it would seem that I'm in the vocal minority. The prigs of political correctness have judged his remarks about the African race to be racist. Therefore academic institutions including Rockefeller University have cancelled scheduled speeches by the 79 year old ,honest and brilliant man.

The truth of his remarks about Africans is self-evident in historical records. It does not make Africans necessarily inferior . He only said that by WESTERN INTELLIGENCE STANDARDS, Africans didn't measure up . Africans have their own standards. Whose standard is more accurate depends on where one lives and what one values.

Michael Bloomberg: Why & Why Not A Jewish President

Mayor of New York Michael Bloomberg seems to be running for president. He's giving speeches about government policies across the country- Oklahoma and Texas included ! He has got the money, ambition and will be termed out of New York in 2009. New York City's budget this year will total $59 billion. That's more than several states combined. He's also Jewish.

Is America ready for a Jewish president? That is a cultural question. Culture springs from the geography of one's country. Jews have been without a homeland and a sustaining cultural base for thousands of years. They have been rountinely assimilated and rountinely expelled from many and varied countries in recorded history. But, America's diverse population is largely built on the outcasts of other countries. The culture of America is still a work in progress, seemingly defined by the last immigrant or special interest group.

But what makes America work is it's wealth. A lot of resentment, bias, dislike because of cultural differences can be smoothed over by a healthy economy and a regular pay check. So Bloomberg's control over New York's $59 billion makes sure that everyone gets a piece of the Big Apple. This includes the latest immigrant to the over paid City bureaucrat. Everyone must be happy. A Bloomberg presidency would almost guarentee a bloated, intrusive federal government

But what would happen if the money ran out in a severe recession or depression? Would the deep-seated, radical cultural roots assert themselves? And what are his feelings about Israel's security versus U.S. security? Could America be in more jeopardy because of a Jewish president's care for the rogue Jewish state?

Culture does count. Culture is more important than money. Countries based on culture last longer than cultures based on redistribution of wealth and intrusive governments. Culture is the low-cost producer of lasting relationships. The great struggle in America is all about trying to define a culture that has some limitations, shows some discrimination and is based on sustainable personal responsibility. With this in mind, Bloomberg would not really understand the presidential requirements.
