Why Poll Morons?

"Let's take a poll"is the age old semi-scientific standard for determining the validity of most any idea. "Garbage in garbage out"is an age old comment on "scientific and semi-scientific"tests.

A recent" The New York Times/CBS News Poll" found these two results among some of the answers.

QUESTION: Do you approve or disapprove of sending an additional 30,000 U.S. troops to Afghanistan in the coming months?

ANSWER: 51% Approved; 43% Disapproved; 6% No Opinion.

QUESTION: Do you think sending more U.S. troops to Afghanistan will make the U.S. safer from terrorism, less safe, or wil not affect the U.S.'s safety from terrorism?

ANSWER: 39% Safer; 8% Less Safe; 45% Will not Affect; 8% No Opinion.

In short, the results indicate that the majority think the troops should be sent but the majority also concludes that troops will fail.

I thought that the criminals and the morons in Congress were the basic problem. I was wrong. It obviously goes deeper than that.

P.S. Obama accepts Nobel Peace Prize simultaneouly with Marines leaving for Afghanistan.

P.P.S. Chaos will follow the human spiecies.

Afghanistan Democracy: Can They Afford One?

America is one of the richest countries on the planet whith a per capita income of app. $48,000.00 per year. In spite of this wealth we are a debtor nation. Our democracy continues to generate new entitlements to any legal or illegal that can yell. And all these entitlements are expensive.

Afghanistan is having another election this weekend. Our politicians are seeing this as progress. How can Afghanistan afford a democracy when the per capita income is about app. $450.00 per year? Will their politicians work for free? Who will be given a subsidy with so little to spare?

Time For Backlash Against Congress

When someone is legally stealing they should not be comfortable. I'm talking about members of Congress. Their stealing of our future by auctioning off our rights to the highest bidder cannot continue. Congress passes laws which make their actions legal. But that does not make the laws moral. For instance, the Iraq invasion was not moral or justified. Yet the House funded the desires of the military-industrial-complex. The bailout of Wall Street bankers after they recklessly undermined the security of the US should not have happened. The potential seizure of the health system by Washington and the roving lawyers should not happen.

The least all of us can do is make the lives of members of Congress, lawyers, military-industrial-complex operatives not pleasant within legal limits. This includes peer pressure. Whether it takes the form of simple, nasty but purposeful e-mails or piketing their homes or snubbing them in public. Keep it legal for now.

Unmanned Aircarft Murder

According to well publicized specifications capabilities of modern unmanned drone aircraft, facial features can be determined from a height of 35,000 feet. That's a startling capability. Actually the old, manned, unarmed U2 spy planes of the late 1950s could do the same feat from 18,000 feet.

Recent "accidental" deaths of men, women and children in Afghanistan and Pakistan inflicted by U.S. unmanned aircraft beg the question, " Why are beardless humans being targeted along with bearded 'militants'?".

These are not the values and deeds that will bring peace.

More Styling And Jive From Barack Obama

Barack Obama comes styling into the news conference and starts jiving about how he is going to personally fix the Afghanistan/Pakistan mess. He's going to send in more troops and increase the drone aircraft strikes in both Afghanistan and Pakistan. These increases come despite the fallout of increasing civilian casualties in both countries from American and NATO missions.  A few days later a suicide bomber blows himself up in a Pakistani mosque killing 50 worshippers. I would say that's the al Qaeda/Pakistani response to the "new" Obama strategy. This is happening while the Iraqi situation has yet to be stabilized and bombings continue there even after Bush/Cheney have declared "victory".

Looks like Iraq , Pakistan and Afghanistan are now all in the same state of disrepair. But Obama plows ahead with more rhetoric and arms and troops. But Pakistan is a country with WMD. So what happens if an al Qaeda sympathetic government gains power by popular vote? Is it all worth it for the U.S. to be so far from home getting involved in ancient tribal relations for the benefit of American empire and pro-Israel damage control? Of course it's not worth it. Afghanistan is the "graveyard of empires" and Obama's hip- hop approach is no better than the moron Bush's approach. But these two presidents are merely the faces of the military-industrial-complex and the Zionist's lobby.

Speaking of Zionists, Stuart Leibowitz a.k.a. Jon Stewart of The Daily Show is being groomed for a run in politics. Considering the alarming rate of devolution in America he has a good chance of being sworn in as president in 2016.

Peace Negotiations Between Taliban, U.S. & Afghanistan

Last week representatives of the Taliban, U.S. and Afghani tribes had a round table discussion about the merits of a Taliban rule or a U.S. democracy as a government model for Afghanistan. Both the Taliban and the U.S. were trying to sell the Afghani rep on their own paradigm.

U.S. Rep. : Mr Afghani we want a democracy in Afghanistan.

Afghani Rep. : What will democracy bring and what will it cost me?

U.S. Rep. : First, we will stop bombing you. Second , democracy will bring law and order because we will send our lawyers to train your new lawyers. Thirdly we will show you how to share your wealth with people who don't work as hard as you do. The cost will be about 30% of your present daily income in cash to achieve both goals.

Afghani Rep. : I don't have cash. Can fruits and vegetables and my personal service be used in place of cash?

U.S. Rep. : No a democracy needs cash. We need the illusion of wealth and something that can be put in a sack in case the lawyers and pols have to leave town quickly and start a new democracy somewhere else.

Afghani Rep. : So I give real produce and get worthless paper in return.

Afghani Rep. : Mr. Taliban Rep. What do you want?

Taliban Rep. : All we ask is for you to let your hair grow, don't educate your women and for this we will cut you in on our drug business profits that lives off of the disenchantment of voters in democracies around the world.

Afghani Rep. : Where do I sign?

Lessons From Afghanistan

The U.S. has been bombing and losing in Afghanistan since 2002. The terrain and social structure of that country is too much for ham-fisted invaders. The Afghanis can arguably be called a pure libertarian- modeled society. They have no central government and the tribal structure is self reliant and is bound together for mutual self defense on a modular scheme. The country is the low cost example of an efficient society. Afghanistan is known as the "graveyard of empires". To its credit it has subdued the likes of Alexander The Great, Ghengis Khan, the British Empire, the Soviet Union and now is having its way with NATO and U.S. forces.

If America is to survive it will have to become more like Afghanistan .

Here's A Quiz

How many Pakistani civilians have to be killed "accidentally" by U.S. and NATO forces before a significant portion of Pakistan joins the Taliban and Al Qaeda cause?

How many more Afghanis will target U.S. and NATO troops because of the deaths of their innocent citizens?

How many Sunnis will be killed in Anbar province now that the U.S. has turned over security to their historical adversary the Shiite dominated security forces and thus reigniting the Iraq civil war in that area?

How come the U.S. refused to take North Korea off the state-sponsored terror list as it promised which then caused the N.Koreans to stop dismantling a portion of their nuclear facilities which stopped the whole peace process?

How did it come about that Georgia chose now to shell South Ossetia and certainly invite a lethal response by the Russians? Also Cheney immediately rushed to Georgia with a billion dollar reimbursement for damages received and vows to SUPPORT Georgia.

Why are the missile shields in Czech and Poland which could threaten Russia in the headlines at this time?

Why hasn't the U.S. pushed the Israelis into the needed concessions for a two-state solution with the Palestinians?

Why does McCain and the republicans talk more about war than peace?

Are Bush and Cheney instigating world instability as a McCain et al vote- getter?

The coincidences of the above warmongering events are too many and too obvious to attribute to chance.

Afghanistan War : Consider The Inconvenient Truth

Bush, Cheney, the American Enterprise Institute, NATO and assorted empty-headed but full of hot air politicians around the globe all give lip service to the importance of winning the Afghanistan War. But the glaring fact is there are only 40,000 NATO troops battling a resurgent Taliban and many Afghanis who have taken up arms against NATO because of the many deaths of innocent civilians. To put that 40,000 number in perspective, there are app. 36,000 police in New York City.

We should leave Afghanistan. The app. 31,000,000 that live there had nothing to do with the 9/11 event save a relative tiny few. The country has become a feeding frenzy of military-industrial projects that are only a pretense to enrich a very few. We should be spending the money on our own infrastructure.

Afghanistan: "Graveyard Of Empires"

Rudyard Kipling's early 20th century poem "The Young British Soldier" includes:

"When you're wounded and left on Afghanistan's plains
and the women come out to cut up what remains
jest roll to your rifle an' blow out your brains
and go to your gawd like a soldier."

Afghanistan has received and became a "graveyard of empires" from Alexander The Great through Genghis Khan including the British then the Russians and now the United States. Barack Obama declared today, " Afghanistan is a war we have to win." And so the only comfort that can come for those words is philosophical. No matter when you lived or died you have experienced the one reality.

The Party Of Incumbents: The Oldest & Strongest Political Party In The United States

Who are you going to vote for? No matter what you answer the person who goes to Washington will join a new political party. The party doesn't have an official name. But it's hold on new arrivals is immediate and overwhelming. "All politics are local" is a truism. And the politics of our nations capitol is not immuned. Simply, the local politics in D.C. is about incumbents remaining incumbents and the incestuous players will do most anything to stay in their cushy powerful jobs. That's the explanation for the seemingly unchanged and predictably increasingly out of touch performance of our elected representatives since the founding of our republic.

The most recent example of the incumbent party trumping the democratic and republican parties is the complete capitulation of the anti-war 2006 congressional elections. That group led by Pelosi and Reid now routinely extend war funding. And what's more Pelosi and Reid will give this president all he wants and will also start the next administration with a free 6 months war funding starter kit.

As with all hypertrophies the incumbent party will only lose when an extraordinary event slams into their careful planning. In this case the extraordinary event will be the unequivocal failure of American forces in Iraq and Afghanistan. Time is on the side of the truth of things. Be truthful and life is a pretty easy thing to enjoyably live.

Cow Pelosi Says,"MOO. How Much And Where?"

Speaker Cow Pelosi is fashioning a paddy filled with $178 billion in war funding that Farmer Bush will toss at the Iraq/Afghanistan wars. There is even enough money to fund the wars for SIX MONTHS of the next president's term. That's provided that Farmer Bush doesn't use the extra funding to kick off an Iran invasion. Gee, I wonder if Cow Pelosi has thought of that possibility?

So that's what the Demcratic oppostion has come to after taking control of Congress in 2006. The voters did their part but the Cow and her Castrated Bull in the Senate didn't do theirs. Moove over Cow Pelosi. You are part of the Iraq/Afghanistan slaughterhouse now.

Anyone For Afghanistan?

Poor Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, on Sunday he remarked in Munich, Germany about the NATO alliance, " We must not -we cannot-become a two-tiered alliance of those who are willing to fight and those who are not." He was speaking about the blowback of NATO allies to commit more troops and expand the mission to what may be an eternal war in Afghanistan.

Well, fight for what? Fight for how long? Who are we fighting? Afghanies or Taliban or al-qaeda don't wear uniforms and even so we can't tell when NATO drops bombs from fast moving jets . So the enevitable civilian casualties bear the bulk of the deaths and displacement. It's the more sane contingent of the NATO alliance that balks from further devestation of a country that didn't have much to begin with but now suffers with even less while they are getting blown up at the same time.

There was a rhetorical question asked by the antiwar activists in the 1960s. They asked," Suppose someone gave a war and nobody came?"

The Benefits Of Pastor George W.Bush's Foreign Policy

Our president acts increasingly more like a deranged intimidating pastor of a rogue sect of Christian radicals. It's as though his god-given " mission to keep " of spreading " god's gift of liberty" throughout the Middle East sustains him no matter the costs. But the indiscriminate bombing only breeds more deadly blowback to American forces. Can any good come out of this catastrophe?

Well the chaotic chain of events that started with the illegal and unnecessay preemptive Iraq War reminds of the 1964 Stanley Kubric movie, " Dr. Strangelove or : How I Learned To Stop Worrying And Love The Bomb". In this dark comedy, Brig. Gen. Jack D. Ripper launches a nuclear attack against Russia. The insane Ripper figures that if America doesn't attack first the Russians eventually will. Hence the title, " How I Learned To Stop Worrying....".

So how does the reckless behavior of President/Pastor Bush somehow make me stop worrying? Well for one thing, America won't be welcome in The Middle East for decades to come. This is a postive. Because it will curb American Imperial dreams and foster U.S. non-fossil fuel use. Secondly, Christians, Jews or other activist religious-type candidates will have a tougher time being nominated or elected to the presidency. Thirdly, imperial war powers will have to be withdrawn from the presidency and remain in Congress until the people demand a further safegard of war only through NATIONAL REFERENDUM. And also the solution to the problem of Israel may finally be in view. The Zionists have succeeded in encircling themselves so densely with anti-Zionists that even their nukes can't help them.

Sadly, there will be more loss of innocent lives and damage to the environment before it all plays out.

Airstrikes In An Urban Area Are Murder

" Baghdad, July 21- American helicopters and warplanes attacked a Shiite area... killing at least 15 people and wounding 10, according to an official at the Iraqi Interior Ministry, who said some of the casualties were women and children".

How many times have we read about collateral death and damage from American airstrikes in Iraq and Afghanistan? What's the difference between a suicide bomber or an American pilot firing a laser-guided 500 pound bomb in a surgical strike in an urban setting? The answer is an American pilot unlike the suicide bomber can be reused. Detonating bombs in an urban setting either by suicide belts, explosive cars etc. or by airstrike is equal to murder.

"Winning the hearts and minds" of Iraqis or Afghans reguires that there be a positive difference between the " enemy" and the " liberator".

Money & The Military & Mean Mindless Monkeys

Consider this snapshot of U.S. foreign policy in the past 11 months.

In July, 2006, the U.S. gave military support to the Israelis when they bombed greater Lebanon. After the ceasefire, the U.S. continued to give military support to the Israelis in the now 60 year old Israeli/Palestinian conflict. But lately the U.S. has taken sides in the new Palestinian " unity " government. Now the U.S. is giving military support to Palestinian Fatah over Palestinian Hamas.

But wait there's more. Now the U.S. gives military support to the same Lebanese in their fight with the Palestinians in Lebanese refugee camps. Of course this is all taking place in the context of U.S. involvement in the illegitimate Iraq war. Ironically the U.S. once supported militarily Iraq against Iran. Also in Afghanistan, the U.S. now kills the same people we in the past gave military support to in their regional fight with the Russians.

These policies and actions do not indicate a design for U.S. security and world peace. They more accurately reflect the actions of mean, mindless, military monkeys who are encouraged by military manufacturers in the pursuit of money to make mayhem.
